"Lemon Tea loft" is a piece that represents the manifestation of my future self. Since I moved from South Korea to Hong Kong very young, our family lived in clustered and small apartments. As the imbalance between supply and demand was a huge issue in Hong Kong, the increase in housing demand has resulted in skyrocketing property prices. As a result, we would all share the same space in a tiny one-bedroom apartment.
The Lemon tea juice box represents my childhood; lemon tea is a popular beverage in Hong Kong, originating during British colonization. Lemon tea was my favourite drink growing up.
My past life is the lemon tea which represents my childhood growing up in Hong Kong. The loft is my future, thriving in a place I can call home.
